Walking Tour of the Celtic Isles

This project title is a nod to my father who had planned a long "Walking tour of the Celtic Isles" and ended up marrying my mother instead. During 4 months of traveling through Ireland, Scotland, Brittany, and Belgium, "A Walking Tour of the Celtic Isles" emerged as a place-based multi-media diary of sorts. Composing original tunes and songs for each place that was visited, this project takes the viewer on a journey of rain-soaked mornings, music-filled nights, and windy adventures across the Irish and Scottish countryside. Following the musical traditions and new encounters with people and place, this performance art piece illustrates and ask us the question, "What happens if we slow down enough to hear the music of this place? What can I hear on the wind through the rushes? What are the ocean waves telling us?"
